Christ is the eternal High Priest.
What does it mean to be a priest?
The priest is “another Christ”.
With their hands, they give absolution to sinners, anointing of the sick and dying, they bless and baptize and give them God’s grace.
The Most Beautiful thing: the Hands hold the Body of Christ.
Today we celebrate Holy Thursday - the Last Supper of Jesus Christ and His institution of the Priesthood. As Catholics, we are truly blessed to celebrate the Last Supper every day at Mass with a priest who brings us the Body and Blood of Christ.
That is one of the reasons we need to pray for our beloved priest!
That is why I am not Baptist!
Thank you, Fr. Michael!
