Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Reading 1 WIS 1:13-15; 2:23-24

God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living. For he fashioned all things that they might have being; and the creatures of the world are wholesome, and there is not a destructive drug among them nor any domain of the netherworld on earth, for justice is undying. For God formed man to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made him. But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world, and they who belong to his company experience it.

Reflection

Although God did not make death; He sure conquered it. With a drop of His precious blood from His bleeding heart on Calvary; the netherworld shook, and the devil knew he has lost his power over death.

We belong to God of eternal life so let us choose life over death.

Let us take a moment to contemplate on the Most Precious Blood and pray,

When things are unclear, Lord

Inspire us to search for you

So that we know we belong to you

Death cannot conquer us

Our ransom has been paid by you

May we choose life and live according to your will
