Gospel Reading:

"Amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18: 19-20)

Our PAPA mission is to "Go and make disciples of all nations; behold, I am with you always until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18,20). The means to our PAPA mission of making disciples is through "praying together".

In today's gospel, the means to our mission of going out and making disciples is mentioned. Praying together bears great fruit. We can pray together or combine our prayers with those not close to us through mind and spirit.

We pray with the saints. God gave us the saints as great prayer warriors and they also intercede for us before the heavenly court.

PAPA has prayer partners--immediate or far, alive or deceased. We pray together to have more disciples to pray for priests . Through the rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, novenas, and the most perfect prayer of all, the MASS, we gather together to pray to God the Father on behalf of our priests.

Today is the feast day of Saint Maximilian Kolbe--patron saint of addicts, radio operators, political prisoners and pro-life movement. He was declared by Saint Pope John Paul II "The Patron Saint of Our Difficult Century". Let us pray to him for lost souls.
