(Thanksgiving Day Readings)
A reading from 1 Sirach 50:22-24
And now, bless the God of all, who has done wondrous things on earth; Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb, and fashions them according to his will! May he grant you joy of heart and may peace abide among you; May his goodness toward us endure in Israel to deliver us in our days.
REFLECTION: "bless the God of all"
This day we gather together--friends, family, loved ones and even strangers-- to give thanks to God. Some may have had a rough year, some may have had a plentiful year and others have had no problems at all. We do not gather for the food, the table decorations, the family nor the anticipated Black Friday sales. We gather in Thanksgivng to God for all His has done for us and for the people in our lives. And we enjoy the day He has given us no matter where we may find ourselves.
We gather to praise the One who gave us life, the One we were created to serve and the One who calls our immortal souls back to Him for all eternity.
The first Thanksgiving was an expression of gratitude and what better way to be thankful than to go to Mass.
Today, list all your blessings and don't forget to mention to God how thankful you are for all He has allowed in your life.
Not too late to register for the December 6-8th 2019 Conference. Just call us.
