In this past three weeks, I was personally affected by COVID-19. An extended family member, a very close friend of mine, lost her youngest brother to the coronavirus in Ohio. This was shocking because he was in his early 50's and a healthy person.
My friend was in shock herself, but concerned that she too may have the virus. She took care of her brother while he was sick. She is now just recovering from flu-like symptoms even though she tested negative shortly after her brother's death.
Now, I am asking for prayers for my middle son, Douglas. He is the father of two of my grandchildren and works offshore out of Mexico. Even though he was quarantined for two weeks and tested negative on shore, he tested positive last week while offshore. Please pray for him.
Reverend Donnell Kirchner, C.Ss.R. died May 13, 2020, after contracting the coronavirus. Now three more of the Redemptorists community at Holy Ghost Parish have tested positive for coronavirus. Our priests are on the front line to serve us. Now they have self-quarantined to protect the people. They need our prayers.
Please, pray for my son's health and for the priest and health care workers who will care for him. Pray for all priests, members and their families who have been touched in some way or another because of this pandemic.
God bless you all and let's continue to pray our 1,000,000 "Hail Mary" Challenge for an end to the pandemic.
