SATURDAY OF THE FOURTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 10, 2021

A reading of the holy Gospel according to Mt 10:24-33

Jesus said to his Apostles: “No disciple is above his teacher, no slave above his master. It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he become like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household! “Therefore do not be afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.”

REFLECTION

What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

This past week I met a priest who said he had been put in “Facebook jail“ for speaking the truth. This is not surprising in these times of cancel culture and punishment for not thinking like the rest of society.

PAPA was founded so that we would have priests who will speak the truth, defend the Catholic Church and who will be good shepherds. As a result of truth, we all bear the responsibility to be like the teacher.

We should not fear unpleasantness, embarrassment, being gossiped about, laughed at when we speak of Jesus and His Kingdom, The Holy Spirit will guide us to proclaim from the housetops about Jesus, His salvific redemption, His love and His daily presence. How can we convert the world if we cower in the dark?

Openly talk about God, speak up against immodesty, sodomy, abortion, euthanasia, unfair wages, and receiving the Holy Eucharist in the state of sin. As Jesus, preach openly before the whole world.

To be so bold we need to know our faith, have strong principles, be sincere, know the truth and be able to dialogue with others. And where can PAPA find the truth? We have a distinct advantage--we have a family where all are welcome to help spread the message, we have daily prayer together though it be on viber, we have on our website prayers, novenas, reflections, saintly quotes, prayer intentions and newsflashes, you tube videos and FACEZBS (weekly zoom bible study by our spiritual advisor). We have formal retreats, mini retreats, PAPA Joe and PAPA for Life activities, pilgrimages and a spiritual advisor who has the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us understand the Bible, our faith and in turn be closer to God.

If you want to be more active, please volunteer. If you have the gift of computer savvy, if you have the gift of writing, if you have organizational skills, know about videos/ IT or great ideas don't be left out but call and share your skills.

The Holy Spirit is like a man with a carriage and horse, who should want to take us to Paris. We should only have to say "yes," and to get into it. It is indeed an easy matter to say "yes"!...Well, the Holy Spirit wants to take us to Heaven; we have only to say "yes," and to let Him take us there. ( PAPA TOP SECRET II. THE SECRET TO ETERNAL LIFE)

God Bless You
