THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY JUNE 7, 2020

Masaccio painting of the Holy Trinity-(1427)

A reading from the holy Gospel of John 3:16-18

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

REFLECTION: " God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life."

What is the greatest gift to give our family? I believe it is our Catholic faith?

What is the greatest mystery of our faith? It is the Holy Trinity.

Today is Holy Trinity Sunday. The concept of God as three Persons in One is a mystery. Yet this is how God has been revealed to us. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit or Advocate. Three Persons in One God.

We see the Holy Trinity mentioned in the Old and the New Testament.

Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 48:16, Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7, John 14:26, John 15:26, Romans 8:26-27, 1 Peter 1:2.

God so loved that He gave.....He calls us deeper still.....we are loved by Him.

He shares His divine life with us. He calls us His children.

We can all witness to our own personal experiences with the Holy Trinity.

How has He shown us His love? In the giving of Himself, we can only begin to comprehend who God is. God the Father who created us, God the Son who saved us and God the Holy Spirit who guides and teaches us and brings us back to God.

Review the relationship that we have with the three Persons of God. Take some time to meditate on our relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Intellectually we might not be able to understand or “fit” the Trinity in our minds. But are we able to “fit” the Trinity in our spiritual lives?

St Augustine spent over thirty years working on his thesis about the Holy Trinity. I did try to read an English version of his thesis and it was beyond my understanding. And this was just his writings. I am not able nor capable to explain the Holy Trinity. But I know His love for me and want to share this with everyone I meet.

This is a famous story about St Augustine, the seashell and the Holy Trinity. Please read Here.

God Bless You
