A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus exclaimed: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
REFLECTION:
One of the soldiers pierced the side of Jesus with a spear: blood and water came forth from His heart. This was all that was left for Jesus to give for our redemption and salvation. His death repaired our relationship with God. And He continues fixing it as long as sin continues.
God‘s love is infinite. We were made to be in union with God. He first shared His love with us. God made us to receive and return His love. The more we understand and accept His love, the stronger is our love for Him. But for this to be true love, we were also given free will. God would never force us to love Him.
Humanity, because of this free will, through pride, doubt and fear, rejects His love. But God continues to love us. This fact will never change.
And He invites us as we are one with Him to make reparations for sins, for the ingratitude of man for God‘s love. And in praying for reparation we open to the devotion of His Sacred Heart.
Through His pierced Heart, we enter true love. And as we get to know Him, we will see and encounter a most beautiful Person.
He reminds us, "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
When we consecrated as companions of PAPA, we recited the Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. God asks us to receive and unite His heart with ours.
We are encouraged to recite this prayer daily to seek our God’s Heart so that His fire will become our fire. And we can “Go out and make disciples of all nations".
God Bless You
