Gospel Matthew 9:32-38 A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
REFLECTION
What is the purpose of Priest Always – Prayer Apostolate?
As stated in our Handbook, “The sole purpose for the existence of PAPA is to pray for priests and recruit all to pray for priests by any necessary means.” (PAPA Handbook, p.10)
We pray for priests to be holy, to persevere in their vocation, to be the Face of Christ to all. It is our pledge to pray daily our prayer for priests, give our prayer to others, and ask them to join us in praying for priests as a PAPA member. And we consecrate ourselves to our ultimate patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
“With confidence we believe that when two of us gather together with one heart and mind, with complete trust and pray in the Name of Jesus, our Heavenly Father will provide us whatever we need.” Therefore, praying together is our means “to make disciples for Jesus.” (PAPA Handbook, p.9)
Jesus says, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
This is exactly what we do. “ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers.”
Join us in praying and spreading our Prayer for Priests.
