Which Way?

St. John of the Cross, patron Saint of contemplative life, Contemplatives, mystical theology, mystics and Spanish poets tells us: “If a man wishes to be sure of the road he treads on, he must close his eyes and walk in the dark.”
All of us have a path set before us, varying in length, elevation, width, and slope.
How we chose to travel is up to us.
We can look around at others to see what steps to take or how fast to move. We can plan our next move and become disappointed if it doesn’t work out that way.
Or we can simply look to God and trust his way.
We can trust in the One who loves us and protects us and will never leave our side.
He is faithful and patiently waiting for us to open our hearts to his and to receive the abundant gifts he has lovingly prepared.
It is your choice, eyes open or eyes closed.
