Children were brought to Jesus that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." After he placed his hands on them, he went away. (Mt 19:13-15)
How is your heart? If we go through life looking for the presence of God we will surely encounter a child. Every child is a precious gift from God and a child’s heart is more pure, untainted by this world. A person can learn a lot by being around children who look at things in a very simple way. Their view is uncomplicated and free of society’s demands. Their sight is not clouded with the political views of the world and measurements of markets.
Children spend time with the essence of another, seemingly more aware of the spirit. They don’t judge your looks, mannerism, or how you sound. They love without boundaries, that may bind or twist the truth.
Jesus says “the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Our
hearts should enter heaven as a child’s heart. It should be clean and holy, full of love.
How does Jesus see your heart?
