SIXTEENTH TUESDAY IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 23, 2019

MASS READINGS

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 12:46:50

While Jesus was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers appeared outside, wishing to speak with him. Someone told him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, asking to speak with you." But he said in reply to the one who told him, "Who is my mother?  Who are my brothers?" And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother."

REFLECTION:

"Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother."

Some people have huge immediate and extended families.

Some don't.

It is a beautiful thing when Jesus tells us we can all be His brother/sister/mother if we just do the will of the Father. If we follow Him.

Do you know that this is something called Divine Filiation? This is how we are the adopted sons and daughters of God.

Isn't that beautiful that through Jesus’s redemption and the Sacraments God calls us His own.

And that no matter how good or bad, big or small our natural families are, we can be part of His family even from the here and now.

As a family, the PAPA family, we pray together for priests every day. And not only that, we have the advantage of our spiritual direction through Viber chat; Mass and Testimony once a month with our PAPA priests and other members; the website, etc.

And like in a family, let us not be afraid to take care of each other. To ask questions. Grow together in faith. To love each other.

Do you remember the PAPA theme song?

Love, love, love...
