WEDNESDAY OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME SEPTEMBER 25, 2019

A reading of the holy Gospel according to Luke 9:1-6

Jesus summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there and leave from there. And as for those who do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake the dust from your feet in testimony against them." Then they set out and went from village to village proclaiming the good news and curing diseases everywhere.

REFLECTION:  "gave them power and authority"

Rely solely on the providencial love of God. That is basically what Jesus said to the apostles. They are to trust in the Lord for He "gave them power and authority" to speak and act in His name. When the apostles went out two by two, with no walking stick, nor sack nor food nor money nor second tunic, they were poor in spirit. Jesus wanted them to be dependent on Him, not themselves.  Jesus had given them the graces needed to go out for His Kingdom.  They were to trust Him in all they were to do.

In the PAPA way, we go out to make disciples and we follow the PAPA philosophy, the rules of life~ pray, serve and bless. We do so with the blessing of God. We will act as if we were going to visit Jesus Christ Himself.  And in doing as Jesus commanded we are rewarded with a richer understanding of the love of God.

Are we ready to do the will of God and completely trust His ways, His will? Are we ready to serve and witness?  In the PAPA handbook, our mission is to go and make disciples to pray for priests to be on fire for Jesus and His church, the Body and Blood of Christ. Let's get our PAPA partner and go out and work for God.

God Bless
