A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus said to the crowds: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
REFLECTION: " I will give you rest."
Day 11 of Advent
It is difficult to rest when we have anxiety, nervousness, and worries.
Have you every watched a newborn baby sleeping? It is unaware of any noises, has no worry in the world and as long as it is fed and cleaned it can sleep for a long time. There is such peace. The baby's inability to defend or take care of itself reminds me of how God sees us.
We are His creation and He promises to be with us, protecting us. And we are told by God to come to Him and He will give us the rest we need. Jesus promised peace and He always keeps His promises. Abandon yourself to His love and let Him renew your spirit to say "Yes" to His peace.
God Bless You
