DECEMBER 24, 2025 MASS IN THE MORNING

Gospel

Zechariah his father, filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied, saying: “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; for he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of his servant David. Through his prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hand of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, to give his people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

REFLECTION

filled with the Holy Spirit,

There are so many questions and roadblocks that occur in a day. There seem to be periods where different scenarios do not direct us to God. A priest once said that many wish they had a “ski lift spirituality”—sit on a ski lift, “ up up up” without much effort and then skiing downhill. This, unfortunately is not reality. There has to be a struggle, a working out what life brings to us and with complete trust in the Lord work at our redemption while using our gifts for His purpose.

Adoration brings a great deal of peace— no phones, no television, no talking or people praying out loud. The presence of God is there. He is with us wherever we go and promises to destroy all our enemies. Beware, though of all the messages, phone calls, unwanted ads, emails awaiting us while we spent time in Heaven.

We thank God on this Christmas Eve, for His incarnate birth, offering us Himself as a solution to our salvation, forgiveness of sins, our woes and struggles. He is the solution. Look to Him and be radiant!

In His Presence is the presence of joy. “Our hearts are restless until they rest in you, O Lord.” (St Augustine)

Merry Christmas!

God Bless You
