Hebrews 13:1-8

Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels. Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you also are in the body. Let marriage be honored among all and the marriage bed be kept undefiled, for God will judge the immoral and adulterers. Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, I will never forsake you or abandon you. Thus we may say with confidence:

The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?

Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

REFLECTION:

I will never forsake you or abandon you.

Working with the Missionaries of Charity, it is hard not to notice their cheerfulness, their giving to the community and their loving care for the neglected. They have shown hospitality, visited the imprisoned at home, shared food, their home, but yet, have no money of their own. They give of themselves and do good to others. They not only have material goods to share but also have a wealth of spiritual good.

How is this possible?

One cannot have love for everyone if you do not love God. Alone we are unable to love everyone. It is Christ who loves in us and when we open up to this agape love you allow Him to love you and to, therefore, love others through you.

Let us allow the Holy Spirit's graces to descend on us through frequent reception of the Sacraments and through prayer. Imitate Jesus-He will never forsake you or abandon you.

God Bless You
