FRIDAY OF THE THIRTY-FOURTH OR LAST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 26, 2021

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Lk 21:29-33

Jesus told his disciples a parable. “Consider the fig tree and all the other trees. When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near; in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

REFLECTION

"in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near."

With Thanksgiving now behind us, many will start looking at Black Friday and the good deals they might get.

However, Thanksgiving for many is a reminder of life and hope that are all around. What did we thank God about? What was on our mind when anticipating a family member coming for Thanksgiving, praying and hoping that God thanked us for our trust, our faith and our hope in Him by granting many favors for that day.

Are we happy that God granted someone we love a second chance in life? Are we happy that our loved ones have been given a second chance to bear fruit like the fig tree? Are we happy and filled with gratitude that the good Lord loves us so much.

Thanksgiving is not just for a day but for every day of our lives as we journey toward the Kingdom of Heaven.

God Bless You
