Here's the lesson I have learned from the Lord.

You want to eat? Work.

You want to live? Work for food.

You want to live forever? Work for the food that endures for eternal life. 

Where you can find such kind of food and work?

God the Father is hiring. Work for Him and He will pay us His wage, which is the food of life eternal.

Still, the Lord wants more. He wants us not only to work for but to work with His Father as well. He implies that we must do the work that God the Father does.

What kind of work does the Father do? 

According to Jesus, His Father trusts Him, sets His seal on Him and entrusts His mission of salvation to Him. In a word, God the Father believes in His Son, Jesus. That is why He sends us His Son.

Ultimately, to do the work of God, the Father, for the Father and with the Father, is simply to believe in Jesus. That is to stake our life on Him.

In practical terms, God the Father wants us to join His party! The wedding feast for the Lamb. There we'll all get to eat the Lamb of God as food of life eternal. 

To join this wedding feast, we need to work on a highest level of faith. This faith would profess that the consecrated Bread and Wine at the altar are truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ Jesus, who is our food of life eternal.
