Good News Flash #3!

Did you know we have daily Scripture Reflections on our website?

Those who read these reflections have the opportunity to write comments and sometimes we have priests who come on and give a teaching on the Scripture. It is amazing!

Here is a teaching from Father Michael J. for the Reflection from Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent, April 4, 2025.

Context:

Responsorial Psalm

Ann's Reflection:

Drenched, alone, afraid,

Only the wind heard my cry,

They took everything.

I have nothing left,

No warmth, no love, no more tears,

Then You held me close.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

I struggle to breathe,

Fire sears through my body,

My arms and legs caved.

My vision darkens,

My mind, a whirlwind of pain,

Then You embrace me.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

She held a knife tight,

A stone in her other hand,

Eyes flared with contempt.

She followed me here,

Everyone fled, except You,

Then You shielded me.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

Father's teaching response:

Salve Princess:

God bless you.

Your cry echoed

Your tears touched

Your fears heard

Your pain felt

Your knife pierced

Your stone dropped

Your contempt absorbed

Your flared eyes burst

Your darkness embraced

Your broken heart, His.

His broken heart, yours.

His blood flows.

His breath relieves.

His Spirit rises.

Your spirit He lifts high.

All is right.

Be alright, be alright...

Your cry, now Christ's.
