Holy Saturday reminds me of my young years going to Church with my mother to "give our condolences to Mary" she would tell me. Usually during a wake or when visiting someone who is grieving from a death, there is great time of reflection, both on our own human shortcomings and soon death and asking ourselves are we ready to meet God.

The Lord God then called to the man and asked him, "Where are you?" Genesis 3:9. God who is omnipresent and all knowing knew where they were and what they had done. "Where are you" was a profound invitation to reflect, reconcile and renew their relationship with Him. He even made clothes out of leather for them. His Son would repair that which was broken.

Justice prevailed for Adam and his ancestors. We have been invited to come back by His Son's obedience through grace and forgiveness. Only Jesus, the Incarnate One, could reconcile us to God the Father.

Stop running and listen to your Father who knows us intimately. Let us acknowledge where we are, both physically and spiritually, and then, with open hearts, seek His guidance and love.

Without losing heart and trembling, may we face reality on this day of mourning and keeping our Mother Mary company. Let our pains and wounds unite with His and allow His great love to grow in us. Let His silence today be our silence.

God offered up His Son for our salvation and redemption. He reached out to us with the great cost of pain, suffering and the death of His Son so that we can enjoy eternal life with Him. At the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night of Easter, we will celebrate His Victory-- the Resurrection!!

God Bless You
