MEMORIAL OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY

ree

Alleluia Luke 11:28

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me."The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."

REFLECTION

"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things." These are Jesus' words to His dear friend Martha.

What did Mary, Martha's sister, do that was more important than serving Jesus? She listened to Him speak!

When does Jesus speak to us? He speaks to us when we adore Him in Adoration. He speaks to us when we pray. He speaks to us when we read or listen to His Word, the Holy Scriptures. He speaks to us in the Holy Mass in our hearts when we receive Him in the Eucharist.

Even Padre Pio tells us:

" Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer."

"The rosary is the weapon for these times."

"Hold on tightly to the Rosary. Be grateful to the Madonna because she gave us Jesus."

"If we only knew how God regards this Sacrifice, we would risk our lives to be present at a single Mass."

Let us pray today to be like Mary. Spend time in Adoration with the Lord. Pray the rosary and trust in God's mercy. Go to Mass. Listen!
