Gospel

they set out to seize him,

REFLECTION

they set out to seize him,

for they said, "He is out of his mind"

The relatives of Jesus set out to seize Him, the Pharisees were upset with Jesus because He was healing on the Sabbath, and if you read a little further in Mark 3, the scribes were saying that He was possessed by Beelzebul and that He drove out demons by the prince of demons.

Jesus came down to experience all that we experience. He wanted to relate with us in every way. From His own human experience He knows how you feel. Close relatives, friends or even strangers can be quite vocal in criticizing us. We can lose the will to continue with a project, evangelize or speak up for the Kingdom of God if we are met with rebuffs, sorrow, indifference and malicious words.

We know how it feels. When we correct someone or tell them the truth, communicate with humility and gentleness, patient with one another in love, letting the Holy Spirit cultivate these virtues in us.

God Bless You
