MEMORIAL OF ST BONAVENTURE, SATURDAY OF THE FOURTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME, JULY 15, 2023

Gospel

"So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

REFLECTION

We always give thanks to God. Most of the time it's heard the loudest when we have been blessed or in thanksgiving for answered prayers.

For those who struggle, have not the Midas touch in running organizations, bazaars, gardening, cooking, raising children or whatever we mess up with, we thank God for our weaknesses as well as for answered prayers and blessings.

He watches over us with more care, more tenderness, more love because of our weaknesses.

God looks down on us with mercy and compassion so I know He is always with me. He knows my every quirk, anxiety, fears and doubts. But most of all He knows my heart. Only He knows. My heart is hidden from all except God.

Relax in His arms. He knows our thoughts before they become words. Forget the long list of petitions. Rest in Him. Recommend yourself daily to Him, and let His mercy and compassion meet up with you wherever you might find yourself. Let your thoughts rest in your heart and therefore, uninterrupted prayer becomes ours to give:

God bless you
