When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a scholar of the law, tested him by asking, "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."
REFLECTION
"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."
“Am I not here, who am your Mother?” Our Lady of Guadalupe said this to St Juan Diego when she appeared to him in Mexico. She revealed her desire to embrace each of us with the same maternal care that she offered to her Son, Jesus Christ. Her image at Tepeyac shows her clothed in the sun and crowned with stars, reminding us that she is also the Queen of Heaven, exalted by God yet still deeply close to her children on earth.
My Mother, the most affectionate of mothers, never abandons her children. In this Year of the Jubilee of Hope, may we be renewed when we boast …”Hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:1-2.5).
Our Mother Mary, Mother of God, looks at her children and as any mother, wants only the best for us. Amid the storms, the tears, the trials, mishaps, our human mistakes she comes to our aid, loves us, sustains us, and encourages us to never give up our hope and trust in God. She never did, even at the foot of the Cross. After all, if we give up, are we not saying that God is limited in what He can do for us?
Because she is the Mother of God, she is the Queen of Heaven! And as she entered Heaven led by her Son and accompanied by angels we believe in her Queenship, as prophesied .."At your right hand stands the queen, clothed in gold of Ophir" (Psalm 45:9).
We are invited to follow our Queen Mother to heaven. We are invited to find our fulfillment in love united with her Son.
Please listen to this beautiful song for the Queen of heaven and earth.
