MONDAY OF THE TWELFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME JUNE 20, 2022

A reading of the holy Gospel according to Mt 7:1-5

Jesus said to his disciples: “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.”

REFLECTION

“Stop judging, that you may not be judged”

Mother Theresa once said, “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”

There is a good deal we don’t know about people, yet we are so quick to judge their actions, what people say about them, or any criticisms said about them. Many times the one being judged is unable to defend themselves .

With patience and understanding, we pray we can discern and judge if dealing with moral issues, sin or no sin, evil vs good. If not dealing with these, then we need to correct our own faults, mind our own business and be ready to love our neighbor.

God bless you.
