“Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)
Zerubbabel was a Jewish leader who led a large group of Jews - still in Babylonian captivity but with permission from its King, Cyrus the Great - back to Israel to rebuild the temple which had been destroyed as God had foretold for its disobedience to His commandments.
God is omnipotent (all powerful) and orders ‘all’ things - good and tragic - to achieve His purposes. We can look back on our own lives to see how the twists and turns, sometimes unbeknownst to us, have brought us to the present moment leaving us in awe; yes He uses us to play an active physical role; but, if we are honest with ourselves, it's too much to have done it entirely on our own.
We must always examine our conscience, confess our offenses against God, and trust in His mercy to bring good out of all things.
