REFLECTION BY MEMBER, JANUARY 1, 2026

""Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain"; whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that.""

(James 4: 13-14)

REFLECTION

Saint James enjoyed considerable authority in Jerusalem and outside of Palestine. Here he gives us golden advice.

We’ve all witnessed the frailty of life, and the suddenness of its end. He teaches us that all our plans should be made with humility and in deference to God's will for us. Only He knows the number of our days.
