Gospel

Jesus said to his disciples: "Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man."

REFLECTION

Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man."

On Saturdays we remember our Mother Mary. She truly is our mother who watches over her children, leading us to eternity with her Son.

When going out with friends, parties, school and college activities, I remember my mother's advice.

  1. Pay attention to your surroundings, don't wander off, don't get carried away with the pleasures of the world...no carousing, no drunkenness.

  2. Be vigilant, recognize and avoid evil and don't be anxious with trials and tribulations, rude people or those who don't forgive.

Same advice was handed down to my kids but since PAPA I add the following...in all you do, whether driving, studying, exercising, meditation, always remember the Jesus Prayer. Breathe in Jesus the source of life and hold Him in tightly and breathe out the source of life to others.

Mother Mary reflects her Son. She is the model of motherhood and opens God to us. Praying the Jesus Prayer prepares and fortifies us for more difficult times to follow.

May we imitate Mother Mary in her devotion to God and neighbor.

God Bless You
