While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, "Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed." He replied, "Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
REFLECTION
"blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
The woman in the Gospel shouted out her admiration for the mother of Jesus, reminding us of the Magnificat spoken by Mary that "all generations will call me blessed".
Mother Mary bore Jesus in her womb, nursed Him and brought Him up to manhood. In bringing us to her Son and uniting us with Him we obtain many graces. We become faithful children in venerating the Mother of God.
Looking at us with maternal affection Mother Mary will help us as we walk closer to our final destination. With great faith we pray the rosary meditating on the different mysteries.
Pray a daily rosary, all mysteries if possible --not a repetition of words or a formula but actually speaking as a child with our living Mother.
