"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world".
A profound truth--Jesus is the Lamb of God.
Abraham trusted God so much that he told his son, "God will provide the sheep for the burnt offering". (Genesis 22:8) God always provides. He even provided His Son.
Lamb is the animal the Israelites sacrificed when they celebrated the Passover. It was the blood of the lamb placed on the door frames that saved, protected and delivered the Israelites from slavery and death. Jesus offers His life for us on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. And His blood cleanses, heals and frees us from slavery to sin. He is the pure and perfect unblemished lamb offered to cancel the debt of our sins.
May the Holy Spirit fill us with more love for Jesus. Ask Him to renew us in His love. Let His heart speak to your heart.
