SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, JULY 23, 2023

Reading 2

And the one who searches hearts

knows what is the intention of the Spirit,

because he intercedes for the holy ones

according to God's will.

REFLECTION

Sometimes when I pray written prayers, I don't know what I am praying or I get distracted in mindless repetition of vocal prayers. Other times when I pray my own prayers, they are very short because I run out of words and then I remember that God knows what is in my heart. So I just sit there because He knows what I need.

St Paul reminds us that our meager and at times inadequate prayers are boosted or made clearer by the Holy Spirit of Christ who prays for us.

God is so good--our prayers of repentance, petitions, desires are strengthened by Him. The will of God will always be prayed for by Jesus praying within us.

We are called to be holy. Prayer is how we answer this call.

God Bless You
