"If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together."
(1 Corinthians 12: 26)
How true it is, when one member of the mystical body suffers, we all suffer. If one member is honored, all rejoice.
Like Job, we don't understand suffering other than we know it either sanctifies us, or embitters us - it’s about trusting our Heavenly Father! Jesus, to give us example, endured great suffering, His mother, Our Lady of Sorrows, endured great suffering; she never left His side. He obeyed even unto death and was exalted above all names, and now every knee shall bow to his name. Like Him, I sometimes say, "Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." (Luke 22:42) The same obedience to the Father's will applies to us even when the weight of the cross is crushing us. God will provide; His grace is sufficient.
