A reading of the holy Gospel according to Matthew 18:1-5,10
The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”
REFLECTION: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”
There have been many shows on TV regarding angels. One of my favorite was Touched by an Angel. Two sweet angels would come to the rescue of the person who needed spiritual help. It was a "feel good" show. It reminded me that we all have our guardian angels who watch over us spiritually and physically.
God in His goodness has given us angels to watch over us. They are higher beings, pure spirits and we are therefore less than angels as we are spirit and matter. They are more intelligent and more powerful as their knowledge is infused and we have to labor for our intelligence.
Our guardian angels are here to serve us and their one goal is the "glory of God" which consists of our salvation and sanctification. They help us know good from evil.
Remember, The Lord has put angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They are with us all the time. Join them in singing and praising God.
God Bless You
