THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2024

Gospel

Mt 18:1-5, 10

Gospel

Mt 18:1-5, 10

The disciples approached Jesus and said, "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven? "He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."

REFLECTION

"their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."

Many catholic nurseries have the picture of the guardian angel keeping an eye on the little ones as they walk too close to the cliff.

I remember my mother helping me with my night prayers, "Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen" In the Catechism 328-336, the angels are mentioned. God appoints to each one of us a guardian angel whose mission is to guide, guard and protect us from birth to death. They are always ready to help us.

But do we ask for assistance? You best take advantage of your angel. St Padre Pio always talked to his and would ask them to talk to another person's guardian angel. We should try to learn from the lives of the saints.

In 1670, Pope Clement X established this day for the guardian angels in the universal calendar. Remember that all countries, cities, dioceses, and parishes have their own guardian angel. Talk with your guardian angel. Thank your angel for protecting you.

God Bless You
