Gospel Mt 28:16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.

Then Jesus approached and said to them,

"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

REFLECTION

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

How to talk about the Holy Trinity without falling into a grave error.

I will start with what the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

The Trinity is a mystery of faith in the strict sense, one of the "mysteries that are hidden in God, which can never be known unless they are revealed by God".58 To be sure, God has left traces of his Trinitarian being in his work of creation and in his Revelation throughout the Old Testament. But his inmost Being as Holy Trinity is a mystery that is inaccessible to reason alone or even to Israel's faith before the Incarnation of God's Son and the sending of the Holy Spirit. (CCC 237)

So, this is a mystery that cannot be reached by reason alone. Also, I don't quite understand St. Augustine's explanation, so I will talk about what I have observed.

I see the example of the Holy Family. The love and protection of Joseph, the father and head of the family. The love and example of Mary, and the obedience of Jesus.

And how about our families? The love of a father and mother that is so great that out of their love children are born. They are cared by the parents, and in exchange, children also love their progenitors. Yes, we love in an imperfect way, but we love our parents and our children to the capacity our human nature allows.

God the Father loves us so much, He created us. Jesus became incarnate so we could become like Him and partake of God in Heaven. The Holy Spirit showers us with His gifts and fruits so with His help we can go into Heaven.

What else could we do but to thank Him for the love he has for us, that has gone to extreme lengths, even to the death in the Cross so we can be with Him.

What else? other then to tell others about the love of God for us, His creatures.

God bless y'all!
