Most of us have at one point in our lives been caught up with plans, family, school, work, ambitions, living in a lot of chaos and noise. We live in regret or we live in the joy of the moment. Sometimes we do not know what to do when we have accomplished all. With clutter or hoarding, we cling to emotional ties and memories. We either look for more work, or take time to rest stopping that war that is in our minds. In competing with ourselves or others, we make no time for God: we are strangers to Him in the world He created and gave to us.
When Jesus says come to me, do we know who is talking to us? Is He a stranger to us and can we trust Him, believe Him or is He one of many in our daily life? We tend to stay in our own stories and can't quite leave them behind to seek out the one who says," Come to me".
Kids automatically run to those they love and know but pause, hesitate or don't even get close to strangers. If God says "Come to me" and give me your burdens, but we don't recognize Him how can we trust Him with our problems?
When the vice presidential nominee was announced, I had to look him up since I had not heard of him or knew who He was. Please take time to know God. Visit Him at Church, sit with Him at adoration, go to confession and free up the soul for graces, go to daily Mass if possible and receive Holy Communion and always pray the Jesus prayer.
