REFLECTION

"Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children's scraps."

Every morning when my alarm goes off I hear these beautiful words from the Song of Songs, "Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come. (Canticle 2:10)

Every morning we step out in faith. Jesus is not only welcoming you to a new day, He is asking you to join Him. He loves you that much that He thinks you are beautiful. He can't wait to be with you.

The woman was a gentile Greek, not of the Jewish faith. She was not one of them. Yet, it was love that helped her find the courage to walk into the house, in front of all fall on her knees, beg Jesus to heal her daughter and not accept "no" for an answer. A parent's love is powerful.

Jesus loved her as much as He loved His own countrymen but it was her deep faith that moved Him. He tested her heart. She fully understood her unworthiness before Him. She had heard of Him but did not know Him. But she caught His love. She renounced her pride, begged for His mercy and even risked her life because she loved her daughter so much. Because of her deep faith He answered her.

In my distress I called out: Lord!

I cried out to my God.

From His temple He heard my voice;

my cry to Him reached His ears.

(Psalm 18:2)

God Bless You
