Gospel
One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?" Jesus replied, "The first is this: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, He is One and there is no other than he. And to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding, he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." And no one dared to ask him any more questions.
REFLECTION:
Yikes!! It was most unfortunate to hear my recorded singing of the Alleluia Antiphon before the Sunday Gospel !! Apologies to my surrounding neighbors in the pews. Though singing is not one of my talents, St Paul tells me that the word of God is not chained, that my salvation is in Christ Jesus, together with eternal glory. So to show Him how much I love Him, I will sing with all my heart, my soul, my mind and all my strength, but perhaps not sing over the choir.
Psalm 25 tells us that the Lord's friendship is with those who fear Him and His covenant is there to instruct sinners the way. He guides the humble to justice and He teaches the humble His way. The Gospel reminds us of what we need.
Our goal is to make it to the Beatific Vision and love is the key. We want our family, friends and even strangers to have the same goal. We pray for our priests who have dedicated their lives for evangelizing and bringing the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ to us as our spiritual food. We pray, sing for their steadfast vocation and that they, too, make it to heaven.
Alleluia, alleluia.
Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death
and brought life to light through the Gospel.
Alleluia, alleluia

Thank you for praying for us and for all priests!
