THURSDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT, DECEMBER 11, 2025

Gospel

Jesus said to the crowds: “Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force. All the prophets and the law prophesied up to the time of John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, the one who is to come. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

REFLECTION

Whoever has ears ought to hear

As we get older, we struggle with arthritis, weight, memory, stamina, eyesight, and hearing to name a few.

Our age can hold us back because we become complacent with the status quo ….fear of the new, same prayer routine, what we eat, what we watch on TV, and what we think of politicians.

We lose that “fire” for “doing” for people. When we were young we saw what was good and we strove for success at our workplace, in our children and family.

We are called to keep that “ fire” alive, spreading the good news of our salvation, not finding excuses why we can’t. As John the Baptist, we should speak up when we see wrong; sacrifice, fast, do penance and perform works of mercy.

Accept getting old and embrace what we need to do. PAPA gives us the opportunity to work for the Lord. Our prayer is here

We pray for priests, for people’s intentions, have retreats and conferences. We invite you to join us this week for our Advent retreat, December 12-14, 2025. Help us celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe on the 12th and expect some surprises. Sign up here.

God bless you .
