A reading of the holy Gospel according to LK 9:7-9
Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying,“John has been raised from the dead”;others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”;still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.”But Herod said, “John I beheaded.Who then is this about whom I hear such things?”And he kept trying to see him.
REFLECTION
"Who then is this about whom I hear such things"
And he kept trying to see him.
And how do we know people?
We work with them, know their ways, discern if they are good for our souls, and watch what they say and do. I find the best way to know someone is to listen to them and see their actions. Eventually, that first "getting to know you moment" with all being at their best, will eventually give way to the true you and them.
Jesus seeks us out. His life is in the Scriptures, and He seeks us out and invites us to follow Him. Jesus is truly the way, the truth and the life, and there is no better way of knowing Him than asking to be with Him. Follow Him in the Sacrifice of Praise and Thanksgiving, in Adoration, in the many graces and gifts He pours out to us so that we can know who He is.
"Who then is this about whom I hear such things?" Everyday is a new chapter in our walk with Jesus.
