Jesus began to reproach the townswhere most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented.“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midsthad been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more tolerablefor Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.And as for you, Capernaum:
Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the nether world.
For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom,it would have remained until this day.But I tell you, it will be more tolerablefor the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
REFLECTION
"For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes."
Today war and murder are rampant. Sexual deviances and pornography are considered normal. Many people, some of them Catholics in high political places proclaiming abortion as a "human right". And so on and so forth.
With so many bad things happening in the world I hear, "Why won't Jesus appear to all?" "Why won't our Lady appear and bring a message to all"?
I wonder, would it make a difference in the world if Jesus or Mary appeared to many? If someone took a video of this apparition and posted it in social media and made it "viral". Would this make a difference?
I wonder...
Many people actually saw Our Lord. Talked to Him. Touched Him. Heard Him. Saw Him perform miracles. And still, abandoned Him and continued with the status quo.
Should I look towards the sky to see if He is coming? Or should I look for Him in the person next to me?
I still pray for Peace and Justice: For children to live their childhood without being corrupted. For young people to search for God. And for old to still find joy in the small things. For priests to be faithful and bring us to Christ.
And I pray for those who don't believe in miracles, those who have lost hope, to open themselves to the wonders and love of Our Lord.
