Gospel

"Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid."

REFLECTION

Troubles with family, work, bills, health, anger, can't let go of hurts or financial problems are some of the burdens that take our freedom away. Daily we look forward to days of ease, when all we planned goes well and no one frowns, complains, murmurs or grumbles.

People seek to reidentify themselves in hopes of freedom. Children have gender surgery, too much medicine is given out for depression or hyperactivity, cities allow drug use on the streets, stealing is allowed, laws encourage shoplifting as long as it is less than $950 stolen. We go along with people's delusions in the name of compassion, and actually confirm that they are inferior, and that somehow God made a mistake in their creation.

We want what we want and if what God sends our way is not what we want, we are not happy. We might even rebel. We seek our own remedy. Some of us dance around the problem so as not to offend.

He has given us the Ten Commandments on how to behave. We are reminded and commanded, "Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid."

All that happens is for our path of sanctification. God loves us more than we could ever imagine. If it is from God it is not negative. In fact with love our lives should be free of burdens so that we can experience joy.

How can we sort our our lives so that we are not troubled or afraid?

"Strive to preserve your heart in peace: let no event of this world disturb it."

(St John of the Cross")

God Bless You
