Jesus tells us how: "Whoever loves me will keep my word,"
What does Jesus mean when he uses the words "love", "keep" and "word?'
John's Gospel is about how much God loves us and how we can love God.
Love is to desire, treasure, enjoy being with that person you admire. Keep is an action of wanting to hold onto that which the "one you love" desires for you. Word is His commands, "receive, believe, ask, abide" are the commands which Jesus uses in John's Gospel. Jesus, our God, wants us to love Him.
How can we "receive, believe, ask, abide" Our Lord? Receive Him in the Holy Eucharist. Believe that Jesus' heart is in the Holy Eucharist. Ask Him to be with you. Abide in Him by surrendering and embracing His desire for you to be with Him.
Visit the Blessed Sacrament and ask for His help to love Him. Go to confession and receive the Holy Eucharist more often and abide with Him.
Jesus promises that: "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him
