As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea,
so that the boat was being by waves;
but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?”
Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was great calm.
The men were amazed and said, “What sort of man is this,
whom even the winds and the sea obey?”
REFLECTION
"I trust in the Lord; my soul trusts in his word."
The readings today follow an important message. Trust in God, especially trust in His Word!
Jesus spoke many times in the Gospels about "Do not be afraid."
He tells us in Matthew 6: 26 "Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barn, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
Why is it so hard to trust? God has proven in Bible that He is faithful and trustworthy.
Read the Scriptures. You will see that God is showing us how much He cares for us.
PAPA has been studying the Gospels with a theologian for the past 5 years. It is called PAPA FACE ZBS (Zoom Bible Study). We have recorded these sessions on our YouTube channel.
