TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, SEPTEMBER 28, 2025

ree

But you, man of God, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate for the noble confession, to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ that the blessed and only ruler will make manifest at the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and whom no human being has seen or can see.

To him be honor and eternal power.  Amen.

REFLECTION

"But you, man of God, pursue righteousness,

devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness"

The letters to Timothy and Titus are what is called pastoral epistles. Instead of addressing a whole Christian community, he is advising Timothy (and Titus) on how to be good leaders of the Church, to be good and holy priests. Timothy was a Bishop and eventually was martyred because of his faith in Jesus.

Today we celebrate what is called "Priesthood Sunday". Although is not an event organized by the USCCB, but Serra International, it is a day where we reflect on the role of our priests in the Church, and for us to pray for them to persevere in holiness through their vocation.

As an apostolate that prays for the holiness of our priests we have put together a spiritual bouquet to pray for all these men that have entrusted us to pray for them every day. You can join in our bouquet by clicking HERE and help them through our prayers to persevere in their vocation.

“There can be no Eucharist without the priesthood, just as there can be no priesthood without the Eucharist” ~ St. Pope John Paul II, Letter to the Priests for Holy Thursday 2004

God bless y'all!
