WEDNESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER MAY 11, 2022

A Reading from the Actos of the Apostles Acts 12:24—13:5a

The word of God continued to spread and grow. After Barnabas and Saul completed their relief mission, they returned to Jerusalem, taking with them John, who is called Mark. Now there were in the Church at Antioch prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who was a close friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, completing their fasting and prayer, they laid hands on them and sent them off. So they, sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to Cyprus. When they arrived in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues.

REFLECTION

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,

"Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

Jesus taught us how to pray to Our Father. The apostles are teaching us how to hear the Holy Spirit.

Jesus came to save the world speaking only what God the Father commanded Him to say and speak. The Holy Spirit sent forth the disciples to the work He has called them for.

Jesus has shown us how to live, how to follow the Father’s will, and how to obey His Commandments. The Holy Spirit propels us to the Divine Love of God.

We are meant to return to the One who created us, cherishes us and who awaits us.

As I journey home, it will be my final destination. Resting in the hands of Jesus, I am in awe of His infinite power and love, resting in the joy of the Holy Spirit. It is He who will give me the strength to carry out His Holy Will.

The Holy Trinity guides us to the radiant happiness which we don’t deserve but is waiting there as a gift.

Pray for one another to stay awake, avoid getting lost, and continuously speak words of kindness, gentleness, endurance from evil and freedom from sin. The Lord calls us by name. Do we pray for one another by name, or do we say, “all in our prayer list”?

The Lord guides us, do we lead others to Him?

He feeds us in the Written Word and Mass, do we sense when others are hungry? Do we show them where they can be fed? Jesus protects us, at the end of the day, do we see where our choices took us and where God’s protective hand kept us from going? And can we lay down our lives for others in the Name of Jesus? Do we avoid confrontation or allow the Holy Spirit to embolden us?

There is so much yet to take in.

Remember John 15:16, 19 “I have chosen you from the world, says the Lord, and have appointed you to go out and bear fruit, fruit that will last, Alleluia. (Communion Antiphon).

God Bless You
