"God heard the boy's cry."

REFLECTION

Many people have lost their faith because God did not answer their prayers. Many if they do not see, touch and feel Jesus, cannot believe. If they don't get what they pray for, it is all or nothing: a willingness to give up because hearts were never ablaze with Him but wanting only for themselves.

We can all be in peril of this. In a pristine world with beautiful outcomes, we have come to expect what we think is heaven here on earth. We pray, say the rosary, go to Mass, kneel a lot, contemplate and meditate, fast, and supplicate. And if we are disappointed we walk away from it all, embittered maybe because all our efforts were not able to change God's will. They ask why?

We thank the many saints, who persevered in prayer, charitable works and sacrifices because it is their stories that help us in our pilgrimage. We see their outcomes, their discipline their love. Many died because of their faith and their love.

"God heard the boy's cry". He hears us all the time. His love for us is much more than our love for Him. We are His children. He gives us what is needed.

Pray for our will to conform to His will, for our love to be His love. He knows what is best. He invites us to join Him on the Cross.

So when our doubting hearts ask, "What has He got to do with us?" be assured He wants us to be with Him. He will take our hand, open our eyes and give us eternal life.

God bless you.
