YES SIR

Gospel

Jesus passed through towns and villages, teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” He answered them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough. After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ He will say to you in reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ And you will say, ‘We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.’ Then he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!’ And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God and you yourselves cast out. And people will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the Kingdom of God. For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”

REFLECTION

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough."

Myasthenia Gravis is a chronic autoimmune disorder affecting the neuromuscular junction where nerves communicate with muscles. As a consequence one has muscle weakness typically worsening with activity and improving with rest. Common symptoms are ptosis, double or blurred vision, difficulties chewing, swallowing, speaking and generalized weakness of arms and legs. Medications and lifestyle modifications are part of the treatment.

Everything in our life, including medical illness, is a spiritual journey. Jesus is our physician. The Holy Spirit comes to the aid of all and assists the weak, turning them into strong soldiers of God. We believe that "all things work for good for those who love God". The Holy Trinity lives in us and we are part of the Holy Spirit Army faithfully following Him. He sustains, guides and intercedes for us as long as we allow Him to show us how to enter the narrow gate. In our weakness, we rely on God to show us the way.

A good soldier according to station and circumstances obeys, follows the commands, and performs his/her duties. We must want to enter through the narrow gate to be with God.

"Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil". (Ephesians 6:11)

God Bless You
