WEDNESDAY OF THE TWENTY-SEVENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 5, 2022

Olivia M. Bannan

A reading of the holy Gospel according to Lk 11:1-4

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples." He said to them, "When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test."

REFLECT

"When you pray, say:"

Jesus shared the perfect prayer with us. It is up to us to make this prayer our prayer and to know and mean all that is said.

PONDER

We are so busy trying to impress that most likely we impress no one. But there is only one whom we need to love and impress.

Contemplate Him and His words of praise, His total submission to the Will of His Father.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, when faced with trials let me not despair. Remind me who you are and who I am. Remind me that I am the work of your hands.

I place my family, my hopes and dreams at your feet. With humility, I realize you don't need my help, my advice nor my opinion. Grant me the wisdom and understanding to pray Our Lord's Prayer to you with complete surrender to your Will.

Amen

God Bless You
