FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2023

MASS READINGS:

Gospel

Mt 1:1-16, 18-23

Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,

and they shall name him Emmanuel,

which means "God is with us."

REFLECTION

Today is the feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our holy Catholic Faith teaches us that Mary is the Immaculate Conception. This means that she was preserved free from all stain of original sin from the first instance of her conception.

Therefore, we should greatly rejoice on this blessed feast day because we celebrate the birth of our Immaculate Mother. Mary's soul is the most beautiful human soul that God has ever created.

Thanks be to God for our great Mother Mary because her prayers for us are very powerful with God. Since the prayers of Mary are the prayers of a Mother, her Son never refuses them.

Let us then always show our love for Mary, and let us always ask for her help, because she is filled with compassion for us, and she is ready to help all those who call upon her.
